1. JESSICA has shipped and is already in Chicago. I am so damn excited to meet her!! ARGH! *runs around in circles*

2. I missed my Ellowyne so I ordered another one, Solitary Sojourn. Amusingly, though not at the initial time I saw it, she came with two left hands. Now I have to wait to hear back from Wilde Imagination as to what to do with her. Bummer!

He got out of the hospital yesterday and is resting.  I'm glad he's home!  He sees his cardiologist this week and then is going to another urologist for a second opinion.  I can't remember the name of the University but he is going to one in Dallas.  Thanks for the prayers and well wishes!

Best and Worst Beatles Songs

John Point
I was just thinking about their crappiest songs and then came across this article:  http://stereogum.com/archives/list/ew-lists-best-worst-beatles-songs_088501.html

They are missing some seriously good songs from the top 50 and I think have too many of their early stuff.  I definitely wouldn't have ranked A Hard Day's Night as no 1, even though I love the song.  Get Back wasn't even on there. WTF?  As for the worst songs...I pretty much agree, except that I would replace Don't Pass Me By and All You Need is Love with Revolution No9 (sorry boys I just don't "get it") and Long and Winding Road.  I actually really can't stand that song.  It sounds like elevator music.  Hell, it probably is!

Plus to the article...the super hot cover of John and Paul (yummy).  Minus to the cover...um, where are George and Ringo?  Hello???

Off to find a copy of EW now from Craigslist or my work classifieds!  I *WANT* that picture!

If you were to open your own theme restaurant, what would the theme be and how would you express it to the customers?

I would have a Beatles themed diner.  With a jukebox playing Beatles music, menus with food named after Beatles songs and lots of Beatles memorabilia around.

If anyone on my F list is interested in the mio jeans I'll take an offer.  There's some more SD goodies including a Beatles shirt, Volks shoes, kimono, etc.

Inspired by Denaliwind's post:  http://denaliwind.livejournal.com/86529.html?view=811265#t811265

I can't believe how many dolls I've had in the past 4 years!  There are some I don't miss and there are some things I've discovered...like I prefer MSD to SD size.  SD are just too big for me.  And I learned there are some dolls that look great in pictures but when it comes to real life they aren't for me. Who I miss the most?  Chantal and Ada

Damn you Tonner!

  • Aug. 6th, 2009 at 7:48 PM
Scarlett Peekaboo
When I saw the ballet version of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (http://www.angelicdreamz.com/Tonner_Dolls_Chasse_Down_the_Yellow_Brick_Road_p/t8-ozdd-09.htm) I immediately thought it would be cute to have a Scarlett O'Hara version in her BBQ dress.

Well Tonner fulfilled my fantasy and came up with this....not the BBQ dress but still gorgeous!
http://www.angelicdreamz.com/Gone_with_the_Wind_Fiddle_dee_dee_p/t9gwdd07.htm

Seriously does not get any cuter...ahem, unless it was the BBQ dress :oP

And he made a Belle Watling but I'll pass since she isn't exactly my favorite character.

Beatles Late
Well my other one completely clunked out on me so we had to get a new one...my choice.  We got a 2005 PT Cruiser (yeah I know you either love them or hate them).  We call it the "beep beep car." Personally I love it and think its super cute:

And Bill finally got the body work and paint done on his 1968 Dodge Superbee:

Beatles Bash 2009

beatles

So Bill and I went to a local Beatles fest not sure what to expect.  There were two openers and the first one was okay but the second blew chunks.  It was some old hippie guy singing "Where have all the flowers gone?" and such.

Anyway...finally, like 9:30 the real band came out.  They are impersonators call the Cavern Beat and while they didn't look like the Four Lovlies the sounded DEAD ON.  OMFG- it was so awesome.

Here are some pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27086819@N07/sets/72157621938022216/

Check out the license plate on the bug....true Beatles lovers will get it.

And here is a link to the band's site:  http://www.thecavernbeat.com/

Sorry for the flash and I can't find the LJ cut deal either. Plus my computer is super slow so it takes forever to upload to photobucket for me now. Saw a doll in an antique shop I wanted today but I don't have $500 laying around at the moment :oP

I'm in total love with Scarlett. I think Tonner did an excellent job with making her look as much like Vivien Leigh as possible. The BBQ (green spriged dress) is from the Franklin Mint Scarlett O'Hara which I didn't care for.

Hopefully can get some Ellowyne Wilde pics up soon as well as some others. Just been busy *trying* to focus, most unsuccessfully, on school.
